An new owner of one of my art quilts found an interesting benefit in hanging fiber art.
An art quilt could add a level of comfort, I can see how it would feel more like home and less like an office. When she mentioned it, I thought of how comforting it was as a child, being wrapped in Grandma’s quilt. It would also block out the sounds of a noisy city, much more relaxing.

A Whole Lot Of Flowers!
What I found in making these, was that each new project you begin,, no matter how many spools of thread, or amounts of fabric that you own, there will always be at least one or more necessary colors that you don’t have. I needed a huge variety in the shades of red, Thus began the great “thread quest’, I can’t fathom that out of my entire collection of thread, massive as it is, I couldn’t find the exact shades of red that I wanted. Unbelievable, and I will provide pictures to impress upon you just how unbelievable this is..When I say that I have a massive stock of thread , enough to open my own store, it is no exaggeration.
Change is Good, Growth and New Beginnings.
I’m already thinking of fall, and the changes which it brings. That theme is behind my latest landscape art quilt, “Change, New Beginnings”. Wow, “time really does fly”, as the old adage goes! It becomes more evident and rings truer with each passing year. Change is inevitable, but with each change of season, we’re given a fresh start, of sorts. “I didn’t get to that last fall, but this year I’m going to….”. It’s up to us, the slate is clean, we can do the things which nagged away at us this past year. The changing of the seasons offers an opportunity for renewal. It’s a good time for change. Use it wisely because time really does fly!

Cherry Blossoms, It’s Raining Pink!
“It’s Raining Pink”. This art quilt is from the perspective of looking up the trunk of an old twisted cherry tree. It carries the scars gained from many years. As you look up you see a cloud of pink above. Your eyes follow the slow drift of a pink petal as it finally reaches the ground below your feet, that is covered with pink. Is it raining pink?
