Oregon does receive a small amount of snow occasionally, slows down traffic, People stay in Schools are often closed for a day or two, disappointing all of our children. I don’t have to tell you that, we all know how much those little nippers love school.
I’ve started two new garden quilts. They may both have garden themes, but they are polar
opposites. So here is a preview of these 2 unfinished garden art quilts. See what you think.
I think you will can get an inkling of the direction I am heading with each one.
So hear we go…
The hand painted silk had such beautiful colors, flowing teal, green and blue with the sharp contract of a bright punch of red. I enjoyed the thread painting on this, finding the right balance to work with the design, not obscure it.
As I worked on it I pictured in my mind the canopy at the top of a rain forest.
Just got a notification that the magazine Fiber Art Now has posted 2 sf my quilts on their FB page in the category “Work we like”.

I’m a self taught amatuer and it takes me literally a whole day to do one, not including the baking. At the end of the day’s work. my entire self, kitchen, floor and sink are covered with colored icing & powdered sugar. There’s so many discolored bowls, dishcloth’s and fingers tinted by the cake decorating colors that it looks like an unsupervised 2 year old was let loose, having the best unsupervised time of his life.
I’ve finished ! “Seuss Over Youse” is all done. It was loads of fun, I will miss thing two and thing oneT
Enough of this sillyness, I’ve run out of material anyway. But you have to admit I made the effort!
