60 MPH Sunset I finished the quilt.

So I did the unthinkable, gasp, I took a photo from a moving car. In fact I took several photos. After I downloaded to my computer, surprise, my phone took better photos than I expected. Several in particular I really liked, of a row of popular trees lining the highway silhouetted by the sunset. The minute I saw those photos, the first thing that popped into my mind was AN ART QUILT!!! .

Filtered Light an art quilt

As I was making this quilt I  was thinking of sun light as it penetrates the water above a coral reef. The water filters and softens the light. I could imagine the colors that might result. A peek at the beginnings of my 60 MPA iphone quilt

Here’s a peek at a new art quilt I’ve started. I’m going to call it 60 MPH Out The Window’ I took several images from my iPhone and used them as the inspiration for this wall hanging.

A iphone photo I feel a quilt coming on.

A follow up to my iphone “sunset out of a moving car window ” photos. I have gotten a good start on an art quilt using some of the car window pics as an inspiration. I’ll post the small beginnings tomorrow.

Not too bad photos from a camera, I’m loving a new iphone

Driving home with my new iphone in hand, checking out the new goodies added since my first smart phone iphone 3.So as my husband is cruising home, I’m playing with my new phone. Checking out the goodies, having fun with my new toy. What can this baby do?
I glanced out the car window, my eyes pop out of my head, wow what a sunset. It was just screaming to be captured on film, so unusaul, dramatic and well awesome. Isn’t that just typicaL?You see something that inspires you, you are already composing a photo in your mind, what an oppurunity.

Lunar Eclipse Art Quilt

This in my latest art quilt, “Lunar Eclipse”. I thought an lunar eclipse would be a cool idea. The silk background that I painted was dark blue and purple. I played around with metallic paints and applique. I had my little fun time and this is the eclipse I ended up with.
