Art in the Park, smaller ones can be nicer. Comparison of Las Vegas’ blocks & blocks of art & a small more intimate one.

Busily working
on a number of quilts, been a bit preoccupied.

Blue and Pink A cherry blossom art quilt, it is a big size and all those cherry blossoms took a long Time to make. I took the inspiration photos last spring and I have finally finished my art quilt. The Finished Quilt, in it’s new home, Australia
“Here’s The Finished Quilt” Now that this art quilt is completed, I’m going to share a few more photos of it, in it’s final form. Many of the elements in this quilt will look familiar, because I’ve been posting photos all along, showing it’s progress as I’ve worked on it.
Inspiration,When the Moon Hits Your Eye
One evening last summer as my husband & I were looking up at the moon, it was particularly luminous that night and peeking out from behind the branches of several trees.. One long look & we ran for the cameras. Shots were taken from every angle. My husband wanted a good photo. I was “think’n” quilt”.
Spring’s a Coming
Spring, spring , spring
is here. With the prospect of all the lovely flowers to come, another thing comes to mind, art quilts with wonderful flowers and the sights of spring, summer and even into fall. .
Contrast, make your art quilts POP!
Do you want to stand out in a crowd of people dressed in black? Wear white.
Contrast can make an impact.
Wear white.
Strong contrasts make things stand out, they are noticed immediately, commanding your attention. A strong contrast will intensify the impact cf the contrasting items. What this brings to my mind is an image of a elderly woman with bright dyed red hair pulled into two pigtails, one on either side of her head. This all goes to show how memorable contrasts can be.
What’s This? Am I Going Traditional?
Here’s a baby quilt, with a tea party theme. It could make a cute table topper too.
The hand turned applique tea pots and cups are in small blue prints. They rest on a center square of yellow fabric that has tiny blue tea cups over it. It is darling fabric. I did a bit of fun quilting, feathers around the borders and wisps of steam coming from the tea cups.
The white outer border fabric has lightly colored pastel teapots
A busy little bee, that’s me! Part 2
Most Etsy sellers are singular artisans making and selling their work, one piece at a time. They aren’t pumping out large quintiles of assembly line products. That’s the attraction.
Still, it’s challenging to keep shops full after several sales, the purpose of this whole exercise
It’s a happy “problem” to have. The best part is you can give yourself permission to work, focused on just what you love.!
