I’m on a garden art quilt rampage, or I think I may be doing what is called “trending”, but on a personal level. Honestly, I’m not entirely convinced,I have it right, there are so many new phrases that just go over my head.> For example, hash tags? What on earth are they? N0 clue, I likely stand out like a sore thumb, “What on earth is that woman talking about ?”.
“It’s Raining Pink”. This art quilt is from the perspective of looking up the trunk of an old twisted cherry tree. It carries the scars gained from many years. As you look up you see a cloud of pink above. Your eyes follow the slow drift of a pink petal as it finally reaches the ground below your feet, that is covered with pink. Is it raining pink?
The world economy has changed dramatically in the last ten years and the United
States is no longer a stable economy that can support the arts like it used
to. As other emerging economies begin to have more disposable income,
they also begin to show an interest in the handmade lifestyle. I
figured if we all banded together and drove people to the same place, it would
be easier to be found. My mantra has been “Together we can do great things.”
I love cherry trees, it’s breath taking to see each new tree as it is in full bloom. I love the romance of the pink “snow” which covers the ground […]

, there is so much beautiful fabric available, it’s hard to control the urge to start a new project with every new wonderful fabric you see or buy. It reminds me of a 2 year old running from one toy to the next until he has emptied his whole toy box. I always feel that I’m 4 or 5 projects behind.
I love spring, it’s always the beginnings of change that I most appreciate, spring and autumn.
In the not so distant past, I’d throw a spring garden tea party, my annual event. Being the kind of person that I am prone to be, it was always a large event. It was timed to show my garden at it’s best, roses at the peak of their first flush of bloom .Enjoying friends chatting, admiring the flowers with pretty tea cups and tiny sandwiches. It’s perfection. But…the hitch is always predicting the weather.
