Word Press Weekly Photo challenge Illumination.
This in my latest art quilt, “Lunar Eclipse”. I thought an lunar eclipse would be a cool idea. The silk background that I painted was dark blue and purple. I played around with metallic paints and applique. I had my little fun time and this is the eclipse I ended up with.
I promised a follow up on my new sewing machine, Janome’s new Horizon 8900 QCP, After having a chance to try her out a bit more, I find I’m still in love with this machine. It is perfect for all you who are quilters.
Get your sunglasses, this baby’s a bright one! I’ve been busily working on a few new art quilts, here’s one that turned out to be colorful and lively..
Weekly photo challenge surprize
What I liked about this fabric was it’s impressionist style, the way it resembled a watercolor. I wanted keep focus on the painting itself, no fussiness to detract or obscure. . So, to preserve that element, I came up with my plan of action. Don’t cover the fabric by too much fussing. Easy on the thread painting and quilting.
The weekly photo challenge theme is Delicate. That can be the lacy silhouette of the bare limbs against the sky, or a single drop of glistening rain as it delicately clings to the branch soon to be replaced by another.
Janome has recently released it’s latest Horizon 8900 Q C P. When it’s release was announced apparently many quilters began to form a line. I’ll share my inital impression.
I’ve just recently received a book from the talented UK fiber artist Marion Marnett. Marion has written about a product named Lutradur. As far as I can determine, it seems to be relatively unknown here in the states, certainly used infrequently. .Marion has provided information about what it is,it’s properties & application. I’m curious to learn more, perhaps you will be too.
