Quilts can be like people, Sometimes quilts just don’t photograph well. Me either, take 100 photos, you won’t get a good one I guarantee. I’m beginning to wonder is this what I really look like?

Enough of this sillyness, I’ve run out of material anyway. But you have to admit I made the effort!
Cherry Blossoms, It’s Raining Pink!
“It’s Raining Pink”. This art quilt is from the perspective of looking up the trunk of an old twisted cherry tree. It carries the scars gained from many years. As you look up you see a cloud of pink above. Your eyes follow the slow drift of a pink petal as it finally reaches the ground below your feet, that is covered with pink. Is it raining pink?
Defining the woman behind TAFA. An interview with Rachel Biel.
The world economy has changed dramatically in the last ten years and the United
States is no longer a stable economy that can support the arts like it used
to. As other emerging economies begin to have more disposable income,
they also begin to show an interest in the handmade lifestyle. I
figured if we all banded together and drove people to the same place, it would
be easier to be found. My mantra has been “Together we can do great things.”

Whoa Nelly and Alphonse Mucha
I must apologize for an attempt last night [a really, really late night attempt] to post these two quilts. Somehow I posted a rejected draft, which was jumbled, incoherent, misspelled and unintelligible. To answer your obvious question, No, I had not been drinking heavily at the time nor was I having a psychotic break withContinue reading “Whoa Nelly and Alphonse Mucha”
60 MPH Sunset I finished the quilt.
So I did the unthinkable, gasp, I took a photo from a moving car. In fact I took several photos. After I downloaded to my computer, surprise, my phone took better photos than I expected. Several in particular I really liked, of a row of popular trees lining the highway silhouetted by the sunset. The minute I saw those photos, the first thing that popped into my mind was AN ART QUILT!!! .

Lunar Eclipse Art Quilt
This in my latest art quilt, “Lunar Eclipse”. I thought an lunar eclipse would be a cool idea. The silk background that I painted was dark blue and purple. I played around with metallic paints and applique. I had my little fun time and this is the eclipse I ended up with.

Impressionist art quilt
What I liked about this fabric was it’s impressionist style, the way it resembled a watercolor. I wanted keep focus on the painting itself, no fussiness to detract or obscure. . So, to preserve that element, I came up with my plan of action. Don’t cover the fabric by too much fussing. Easy on the thread painting and quilting.
The light bulb that went quilt
