I’ve been busy busy trying to get some of the projects I’m working on finished.
We can see things around us without really seeing them and miss opportunities for creativity. We need to learn really see and consider new perspectives.
On my walk one day last month, I saw a wonderful sight, looking up, delicate pink blossoms with sky blue behind them. Yes it's cherry blossom time. This could be a future art quilt. Thanks to my Smart phone I took a few pictures, OK I took a lot of pictures, I don't have over 4000 pictures stored in my phone for nuttin.
Been busy last few months. Now I've caught my breath, I've started a new art quilt. This one is an abstract.
Now getting back to this particular art quilt, a stained glass window wall-hanging. it was a fun quilt to work on. I tried to make it look like a realistic stained glass window. The tricky part was to how could I create the illusion of light behind the panes, subtle, without it looking too obvious. I definitely didn't want shafts of light shining down.
So I did the unthinkable, gasp, I took a photo from a moving car. In fact I took several photos. After I downloaded to my computer, surprise, my phone took better photos than I expected. Several in particular I really liked, of a row of popular trees lining the highway silhouetted by the sunset. The minute I saw those photos, the first thing that popped into my mind was AN ART QUILT!!! .
